FAQs
Where should I start if I don't know which product I need?
Start by identifying whether you need a residential or commercial system. Residential customers should then determine whether the home has a dedicated hot-water return line and approximate home size. If you’re unsure about any of these details, contact us before ordering and we’ll help identify the correct system.
What's the difference between a complete system, accessory and replacement part?
Complete systems contain the primary components needed for a specific D’MAND application. Accessories add activation or installation capabilities, while replacement parts are intended to service or modify compatible existing systems. Review the product description carefully or contact us if you’re replacing an older Metlund® or D’MAND component.
What's the difference between ACT2 and SS3 systems?
ACT2 configurations are designed for many residential applications up to approximately 4,000 ft². SS3-200 configurations are intended for larger homes or longer plumbing runs, with the appropriate version depending on whether a dedicated return line is present.
Can I purchase additional activation buttons or Bluetooth accessories later?
D’MAND offers separate activation and Bluetooth accessories for compatible systems. Compatibility can depend on the age and model of your existing equipment, so verify the product description or contact ACT before ordering an accessory.
I'm replacing an older Metlund® system. Which current part do I need?
D’MAND Kontrols® was formerly Metlund®, but replacement compatibility depends on your specific model and generation. Contact ACT with the model information from your existing system and we’ll help identify the appropriate replacement.

Keep your existing pump and start saving water right away with D’MAND Kontrols. Your current pump will work with the controller, and hot water delivery time will depend on the pump’s flow rate. A higher-flow pump can deliver hot water faster, but upgrading your pump is not required. When your existing pump eventually needs replacement, you can simply choose a faster-flowing model for improved delivery performance.
